What you will find out and about
There is so much to explore right on the doorstep and within the wider radius, and Mount Pleasant Farm is very centrally located for so many attractions and activities to suit a wide variety of interests. It's impossible to capture them all here, but to give you an idea, being right on the fringe of the Peak District National Park, (just a few hundred yards).
For walkers there is a footpath that actually runs through the farm itself so you can pick that up and stroll the lovely countryside. Just down the road is the Manifold Trail with a 12 mile paved walk, with cafe shops on route, and of course the very famous Dovedale, with its' stepping stones across the river where the water is clear and many love to paddle and where you will see some of the country's most spectacular scenery. Rock climbing and more adventurous walking at the nearby Roaches again with spectacular scenery.
There are numerous country estates such as Chatsworth, with everything from spectacular gardens to adventure play areas, Kedleston Hall, Tissington Hall, all only a short drive away and many more.
For the youngsters there is of course Alton Towers only 7 miles away, the monkey forest, and go ape high wire adventure park, and for the extra small ones, many, many play parks, Gulliver's at Matlock, and lunch spots at Tittesworth Reservoir or Carsington Water.

For those that like to shop there are two historic towns almost equal distance from the farm, Ashbourne one way, and Leek the other way. Ashbourne has all the usual shops, but also provides some beautiful crafts and art, bespoke home wares and gifts, antiques shops, bars, bistros, coffee shops and designer clothes boutiques. Leek provides well for everyday needs with three large supermarkets and trestle markets on Wednesdays and Saturdays
